Education
David graduated from Porter Gaud High School in Charleston in 1979 and Tulane University in New Orleans in 1983. He studied at the London School of Economics during the years 1981-1982. He served as a regular officer in the Ordnance Corps of the United States Army during the years 1983-1989.
He is a graduate of numerous military schools. He retired as a JAG officer after over 21 years of service in the active and reserve forces of the United States Army. He is married to the former Deborah Campbell of Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada, and has a daughter, Erin, aged 4. He is active in the American Legion and in Sertoma Club.
